Club Django Toronto
Inspired by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, Gypsy jazz—also known as jazz manouche—combines the expressive traditions of Romani guitar with the infectious swing of 1930s Parisian jazz. Reinhardt’s revolutionary style, made famous through the Quintette du Hot Club de France with violinist Stéphane Grappelli, and continues to inspire musicians and audiences around the world.
For more than 25 years, Club Django Toronto has been a leading voice for Gypsy swing in Canada and remains Toronto’s longest-running ensemble dedicated to this style. The group has earned national recognition, including a National Jazz Award nomination for Best Acoustic Group and the Canadian Collectors Congress Award for Album of the Year.
